Our generation bases credibility on explainability.We reason,” If it can be explained it can be trusted and believed in.” But some of the most incredible events and phenomenae in history are marred by inexplicabilities. This perspective of ours leaves no room for awe,wonderment or faith - without which there’s not much hope for a successful existence.
Jesus challenges us in john 12 to be a believing generation, one who looks at the person of Jesus and has faith in his miracles not because they’re definable or classifiable or rational, but because He is good and all his deeds flow from that one good source: the Father. He wants us to stop evaluating, criticizing, explaining, analyzing and start trusting, receiving and - confessing that our judgements will always be clouded and lacking in the light of His omniscience.
